I'm working on a dating site, and explaining trust is one of the hardest product problems

Introducing a dating platform is difficult when people are tired of hearing that the next one will be different. After dealing with spam and suspicious profiles, they have good reason to be skeptical. I’m the founder of Soulmate.com. We invest significant time and resources in maintaining high standards. Every profile is vetted by a human, and members have controls over their privacy and who can contact them. I want to explain these protections clearly while being honest about their limits. For other builders facing similar skepticism: what has helped you earn trust? Explaining your process, letting people explore before signing up, or being visible and accountable as the founder? I’d appreciate feedback on our public site, especially anything that feels vague, unconvincing, or leaves an important question unanswered.
