With Bukayo Saka injured, the assumption was that Madueke would take his place in the latest England squad, like he has done at club level.Thomas Tuchel stressed he appreciates the 24-year-old has been getting more minutes with the Champions, and he’s been left out for the Croatia and Spain fixtures because of not wanting to break up the last squad who did well, rather than Madueke doing anything wrong. As usual, though, with the Three Lions manager’s selections, he’s not consistent in his thought process. There will be individuals arriving at St George’s Park next week who were not involved in the last international break. He name-dropped Morgan Rogers and Rio Ngumoha as being the current options to start on the right side of his attack.Gibbs-White and Anthony Gordon could be contenders as well to start in that position at Wembley on Thursday. What would worry you as a right midfielder is that those ahead of you in the pecking order don’t even view your role as their first choice.Has Tuchel Lost Faith in Madueke?Given that the Gunner was trusted to start in a World Cup quarter-final, it’s fair to think his national boss may have lost faith? He was taken off at half-time against Norway and, given that he hasn’t represented his country since, has his German manager realised what made many surprised the player was on the plane to North America in the first place? While no one can question the effort of a Premiership title winner, his final ball for a long time has been erratic. He can beat his full-back with pace but then will either run the ball out of play or hit and hope with his cross. That’s not exclusive to his time in North London but was evident at Stamford Bridge before that. Some Gooners are praising his recent form, but it comes across as patronising. A section of our fanbase used to do the same with an Eddie Nketiah. Because they knew he wasn’t quite at the level Arsenal require, the bare minimum would be highlighted. He has zero assists in the Premiership this season and one deflected goal in the league. While his improvement off the ball has been highlighted, let’s remember he cost approximately £50 million!(Photo by Richard Pelham/Getty Images)Does Madueke Have the Quality Arsenal Need?I believe Madueke is a decent squad player but lacks quality in the final third to be great. Can Arteta trust the attacker to be the difference-maker in a massive game?Is he the type to take responsibility in a knockout tie?Is he an individual who provides stardust?Tuchel clearly doesn’t think so anymore. What about you peeps?Dan SmithDo you agree with Dan that Madueke lacks the final quality to become a great player, or does he deserve another opportunity with England?
