Prototyping a cover for stethoscope ear tips. Would you actually use this?

Wait 5 sec.

Full disclosure: this is my own small project. I'm not selling anything yet. I guess I get grossed out easily but I got tired of getting a yucky feeling every time i used my stethoscope. I wear my stethoscope in my pant pocket and it brushes against all sorts of surfaces all shift long (also going into iso rooms i’m just imagining all the particles sitting on the tips while i waft around in the room). I went to try and find some kind of covers and found out nothing like it exists so i said why not make it. these are 3d printed just for demonstration purposes. i’d like to make them with different colors and ultimately personalized. i just want to get some feedback as to what people think and i don’t really want to go around my unit telling everyone im working on a project. i have videos on my page if you’re interested to see it in action. the way they work is by pinching the sides and then pulling it down the stem of the stethoscope to reveal the ear tip and allow auscultation. to cover the tips back up, just pinch and pull back over the tips. any and all advice welcome!! submitted by /u/ScopeBites [link] [comments]
