It’s my first year working at an inpatient unit at a hospital and I’ll have to work the Wednesday-Saturday Thanksgiving weekend. I’ve never spent a holiday alone and i’m a little nervous. I live in a different state than any of my family and have roommates but they’ll be with their families celebrating. Does anybody have any tips about how not to feel lonely? I know i’ll be at work but the feeling of being away is a little sad. And also does anybody’s unit do anything special the day of?
