Sharing my messy desktop on Zoom got on my nerves, so I built a Mac app in an hour to hide it

Wait 5 sec.

Every time someone asked me to share my screen, the first thing they saw was forty screenshots and a file called "final_FINAL_use_this_one". After one meeting too many, I gave myself an hour to fix it. The result is Poof, a tiny macOS menu bar app. One click hides your desktop icons and Dock. Another click brings everything back exactly how you had it. It's free and open source, built with SwiftUI. I figured I'm probably not the only one with this problem, so here it is: https://github.com/ahmadodeh9000/Poof Heads up: it's not notarized yet, so macOS will ask you to allow it the first time (System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway). It needs macOS 26.5 or later. Would love to hear what you think. submitted by /u/AdventurousMoney4512 [link] [comments]
