Trijicon AccuPoint 1-8x24 Gets Battery-Free Green Duplex Reticle

Wait 5 sec.

Not everyone wants a tree. Trijicon has added a Standard Green Duplex reticle option to the AccuPoint 1-8x24, aimed at hunters and shooters who want a familiar, uncluttered sight picture with nothing in the way of the target. It joins the Red Triangle Post version in a lineup that now offers two reticle choices. The battery-free illumination is the AccuPoint’s signature feature and the reason the duplex reticle here is not a plain black crosshair. Tritium and fibre optics work together to light the aiming point, with the fibre optic gathering ambient light during the day and the tritium taking over as light fades. The reticle adjusts to conditions automatically with no switch to remember and no battery to die, though manual brightness control is available when you want it. The aiming point glows green in both day and night settings. That suits the AccuPoint’s intended use. On a dawn stalk or in thick timber at last light, a black duplex disappears against dark fur while a glowing green centre stays visible, and there is no fumbling for an illumination dial while an animal walks off. Trijicon also notes the Bindon Aiming Concept here, where the illuminated aiming point draws the shooter’s eye for both-eyes-open shooting at low magnification. The scope is a second focal plane design with a 30mm tube and a 24mm objective, running true 1x at the bottom end with 8x available when the shot gets longer. Field of view runs from 20.0 to 2.5 degrees across the magnification range. Glass is fully multi-coated broadband anti-reflective, and the housing is 6061-T6 aluminium with a black hard coat anodized finish in satin black. Low capped adjusters move 0.25 MOA per click across 100 MOA of total travel, and the eyepiece has a dioptre adjustment.
