So I've noticed that the concept of a 2D model has overall been getting more and more popular over the past few years. Its gotten to the point to where people who I used to see with 3D models have ended up going for a 2D model, either a custom one or some pre-fab off of Etsy thats recolored to whatever their previous model was. But is there still an appeal for 3D models out there? I've been a 3D model vtuber for 5 years and have been in a hiatus since February of this year due to work, with plans to eventually come back sometime soon with my 2.0 model thats more in-line with what I want. I had a model more or less being made a couple years ago, but things soured over time with that designer and I wasn't impressed with the work after I sunk a significant amount of money into it and I had cancelled the model. I do want to come back with something new, but I don't know if sticking with 3D is worth it nowadays and I don't want to sink money into something that will not seem appealing. I know, the person behind the model matters more than the model itself, but I just want to make sure that I'm making the right choice here. submitted by /u/TobyK98 to r/VirtualYoutubers [link] [comments]
