Tottenham Hotspur fans have provided a very interesting response to a poll on Luca Williams-Barnett following his debut against Crystal Palace.Spurs fans have been crying out for the 18-year-old to get an opportunity for a long time, and with Tottenham 2-0 up against a 10-man Crystal Palace side, Roberto De Zerbi finally decided that the time was right to hand the teenager his Premier League debut. There was a huge cheer around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when Williams-Barnett was introduced in the 88th minute, and it only took him a couple of minutes to demonstrate why he is so highly thought of by many at Hotspur Way.Receiving the ball on the left flank, the youngster went on a mazy run, leaving a couple of Palace defenders for dead before going to the byline and picking out Mohammed Kudus inside the box.Unfortunately, the Ghanaian could not adjust his feet in time to tap the ball into an empty net, denying Williams-Barnett a world-class assist in his debut.Photo by Jacques Feeney/Offside/Offside via Getty ImagesTottenham fans want Luca Williams-Barnett to start against LeedsThe Spurs academy graduate certainly showed enough to warrant a place on the bench against the Eagles, but Tottenham fans think he deserves more.Football.London ran a poll on whether Williams-Barnett should start on Saturday at Elland Road, and the responses were emphatic.3134 Spurs fans responded to the poll, and by a huge margin, they voted that the teenager should be in the starting line-up.65 per cent of the responders saw enough in Williams-Barnett’s five-minute cameo to be convinced that he deserves to start against Daniel Farke’s side. That means that the vast majority of the Spurs fan base thinks the 18-year-old would be a better option on the left than Mathys Tel.Why De Zerbi will not start Williams-Barnett at LeedsTime and again, De Zerbi has spoken about the importance of managing Williams-Barnett smartly and not throwing him into a difficult situation, leaving him to sink or swim.Earlier in the season, the Tottenham boss said about the Spurs starlet: “Yes, I have a big consideration because he is a good player and a potential big player. We have to understand when is the best situation for him and the team also.“It is a different job to manage a young player, especially when they have the potential to be a top player. You cannot put them in a bad condition, but you also cannot forget about them. I did not forget about Luca.”The Tottenham boss clearly waited for an unlosable situation against Palace to introduce the youngster, and his comments suggest that he is unlikely to start him at a tough away ground like Elland Road.Williams-Barnett has not played in front of a hostile crowd before, and one would not expect the teenager to get more than a few minutes off the bench at Leeds.READ MORE: Luca Williams-Barnett nominated for Premier League award after 5-minute Tottenham cameoThe post 65% of surveyed Tottenham fans want De Zerbi to hand out a full debut vs Leeds appeared first on Spurs Web.
