.They won't have to fill form 6, EC saysNEW DELHI: Electors across seven states/UTs undergoing SIR, including Delhi, who were excluded from the draft electoral roll on account of being absent, shifted, dead or duplicate (ASDD) and whose enumeration forms (EFs) were not received, will be provided one more opportunity to get their names included in the final electoral roll by filling up the SIR form afresh. They will no longer have to fill Form 6, meant for fresh enrolment, or Form 8, if they were excluded due to shifting of place of residence within the same state/UT.The drive in states where SIR is under way - Delhi, Haryana, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Telangana and Nagaland - may come as a relief for deleted electors who were reluctant to fill Form 6 to be added back, in view of the declaration in the form that they were enrolling for the first time. "Basically, the enumeration window which stopped with the publication of draft roll is being reopened for the deleted ASDD voters till the end of the claims and objections period," an EC official said.EC, in a letter to chief electoral officers of the above states/UT, said ASDD electors may submit their EF physically or online to the electoral registration officer or booth-level officer (BLO), along with an annexure mentioning the reason why they could not submit it earlier and declaring that they have not submitted Form 6 for fresh enrolment during SIR.An elector who was excluded due to shifting of residence within the same state/UT can submit the EF along with an annexure mentioning why it was not submitted earlier and declaring that they have not submitted Form 6 during SIR. In the annexure, such voters must mention the address where they were enrolled earlier as well as the address to which they have now shifted. Residence proof will need to be attached. The EF, along with the annexure, must be submitted to the ERO of the assembly constituency to which the voter has shifted. The poll panel said partially filled EFs of left-out ASDD electors will be generated afresh in the ERO dashboard in ECINet. The district election officer and ERO shall make all efforts to contact such electors through BLOs.Join conversationShare your thoughts in the commentsBe respectful · TOI community guidelinesThe district election officer and ERO shall ensure delivery of EFs either physically or electronically via WhatsApp, SMS or email where contact details are available. Affected electors can download and fill up EF on ECINet with their old EPIC number.Booth-wise lists of such ASDD voters will be displayed afresh on notice boards and also uploaded on the CEO's website.EC directed BLOs to get in touch with electors marked as ASDD through house-to-house visits; enquiries from neighbours, family members, RWAs and by using available contact numbers.EFs received from such electors shall be processed and disposed of by EROs concerned after verification of the applicant's eligibility, ordinary residence as well as field verification.Once approved, the same EPIC number assigned to the elector prior to SIR shall be re-assigned. An elector who has already submitted Form 6 for fresh enrolment during SIR need not submit the enumeration form with statement afresh.Get the latest India News and Live updates. Download the TOI app.
