[Dev] Free Android viewer for huge STL/OBJ/PLY files, with export at the triangle count you choose

Wait 5 sec.

App Name: Buf3D Lite Same scan, full detail vs. exported STL at 3% of the triangles I’m the solo developer of this app, so full disclosure: it’s my own project. What it does: Opens very large 3D models on ordinary Android phones, including scans with millions of triangles, and lets you export them back to STL or OBJ at the triangle count you choose. Handy for checking or lightening a mesh before slicing. For 3D printing: Reads STL, OBJ, PLY, 3DS, LWO, OFF, DXF and LDraw Exports STL and OBJ choosing the number of triangles (simplified mesh) Converts LDraw brick models to STL, so you can print them Multiresolution engine I developed (Progressive Fans): the detail adjusts in real time, so huge files stay smooth Also: step-by-step building of LDraw models with the parts list for each step, and real-time shadows with a movable sun. Cost: Free, no ads, no subscriptions. Your own files up to 200,000 triangles. An optional one-time purchase, Buf3D+, removes the limit. Android only. Feedback welcome, especially on which export options would help your printing workflow. submitted by /u/Existing-Lime-8775 to r/3DPrintingTools [link] [comments]
