For dog owners: a weekly lake-safety map using EPA's CyAN satellite data for algae blooms

Wait 5 sec.

Helps to know how bluegreen algae is present in a lake, check the ones nearby to you for your dogs safety https://bloomwatchbytenebroso.com A static Python site rebuilt weekly by a GitHub Action. It pulls the 300 m Sentinel-3 CyAN histograms for 134 matched lakes and rates each one by how much of the lake is affected, not by the worst pixel, since single high pixels are often noise. Weeks that are mostly cloud get skipped. Open questions I’d love input on: better ways to handle shoreline pixels, and whether there are state advisory feeds worth adding. submitted by /u/caramelprince_3333 [link] [comments]
