People from different nationalities and backgrounds are set to come together at Malta’s National Blood Transfusion Centre in Gwardamangia for an initiative celebrating solidarity, inclusion and the importance of donating blood. The event will place a particular focus on third-country nationals (TCNs), recognising their contribution to Maltese society and their willingness to give back to the community through blood donation.Organisers hope the initiative will encourage more people from different communities to consider becoming blood donors, while highlighting how a simple act of generosity can make a life-saving difference. The event will also serve as an opportunity to recognise those who have already stepped forward to donate blood, with certificates of appreciation set to be presented to participating donors. The programme will include addresses by representatives of the health authorities, as well as GWU Secretary General Kevin Camilleri.Beyond raising awareness about the ongoing need for blood donations, the initiative aims to highlight the positive role that third-country nationals play in Maltese society.By bringing together people from different cultures and backgrounds for a shared cause, the event seeks to promote a sense of community and demonstrate how everyone can contribute to saving lives, regardless of nationality. The initiative also serves as a reminder of the importance of blood donation and the impact that individual donors can have on patients who depend on blood transfusions.Have you ever donated blood, or would you consider becoming a donor?•
