He only debuted in the Premier League this January where he became the first referee to refuse to change his mind after being sent to the screen by VAR, seeing Man City* awarded a penalty. Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 10 meetings against Hull City across all competitions (8 wins, 2 draws), outscoring the Tigers 25 to 6 in that span. Hull City have collected the most yellow cards in the Premier League this season (25 cards across 9 games) πΈ Previously in this fixture... Nine years ago saw Hull last visit the Emirates where we would beat them 2-0 thanks to an Alexis Sanchez brace. It was 1-0 until stoppage time when Sam Clucas conceded a penalty, a red card, and a second goal to give us the three points. The starting lineup featured Mustafi at Centre Back with Koscielny, and a forward line consisting of Iwobi, Ozil, Walcott, and Sanchez. This first picture is really incredible, what a player he was. Here comes Hull down the motorway as they look to achieve their first win since beating fellow promoted side Coventry back at the end of August. Before that, they hilariously beat Man United in their opening game of the season, but it has been downhill since then for the Tigers and their maulings. They actually haven't won a game in all competitions since the Coventry win! I expect a strong side tomorrow as we head into yet-a-fucking-nother international break, albeit this one is two weeks rather than that horrid three week one we had last time. Strangely, Noni Madueke wasn't called up for England despite him playing the best football in his career as of late. Ben White returns to the squad again, hopefully fully cleaning his closet out of the skeletons from the Southgate era, joined by the usual faces in Rice, Konsa, Eze, and Myles. It remains to be seen if any of our lads will stand down from this round, but I doubt this will become a common occurrence for players with internation ambitions. Every English player wants to be part of the squad that finally wins a trophy, and consistently stepping back from these international breaks is a sure fire way of not being called up for the big tournaments. Last time I said I expected a relatively routine win, we were knocked out of the cup by Fleetwood. So with that in mind, I expect a bit of a slog. Hull will sit back, be compact, frustrate us, perhaps try to take advantage of the least experienced and youngest (32!) referee in the league, and overall try to make us miserable. So basically, business as usual for a team visiting the Emirates. https://anditsarsenal.com/2026/11/06/arsenal-vs-hull-7th-november-2026-premier-league-match-preview/ submitted by /u/Mahoganychicken [link] [comments]
