Choosing what you want to do with your future can feel like a pretty big decision, especially when you’re still figuring out who you are. But what if choosing a career isn’t about finding one perfect path? That’s exactly what Teatru Manoel’s latest production, ‘Collar’, is inviting young people to think about.Presented as part of Teatru Manoel’s TOI TOI Learning and Participation Programme, ‘Collar’ is a thought-provoking production aimed at audiences aged 12 and over, exploring the pressures, expectations and possibilities that come with choosing a career. And let’s face it, deciding what you want to do for the rest of your life isn’t always easy!Led by Creative Producer Sarah Grech, the production encourages young audiences to look at life from different perspectives and understand that the decisions they make today don’t necessarily have to define their entire future. At the heart of the performance are three different collars: blue, white and yellow. Each represents a different perspective on career choices, prompting audiences to question what influences their decisions and whether the path they choose is truly right for them. After all, what happens when you realise the career you’ve chosen isn’t quite what you expected? Can you change direction? And is there really such a thing as making the wrong choice?Rather than offering straightforward answers, ‘Collar’ invites young people to reflect on their aspirations, consider the bigger picture and recognise that choosing a career is just one part of life’s journey. It’s a message that could resonate with anyone who has ever felt uncertain about their next step.Want to catch the performance?‘Collar’ will take place on Saturday, 14th November 2026, at 5pm, at Teatru Manoel’s Studio Theatre in Valletta. The production is suitable for audiences aged 12 and over, making it an opportunity for teenagers, students and families to explore an important conversation through theatre.Tickets can be booked through Teatru Manoel’s Booking Office or online at www.teatrumanoel.mt.Because sometimes, figuring out your future starts with realising that you don’t need to have everything figured out just yet.Share this with someone who’s feeling the pressure of choosing their career path•
