It’s running natively on the PS5 itself, in EglantinePS5, on a base PS5 at 12.40, booted from the normal PS5 system. Linux is a separate option, further down. The clip is NOT Linux. Follow-up to my first post. Yesterday it was far whiter, and in slow motion. Link now moves at normal game speed instead of slow motion. The frame rate is still only about 20 to 25 fps, so it’s choppy, with the game’s real upscaler running on the PS5. I played over 10 minutes without a crash, running around, going into huts and talking to NPCs. Mario Kart World has improved a lot too. Collage in the comments shows the progress build by build. To be clear, it doesn’t look right yet. Outdoors is still too white, and that’s the main thing I’m working on. Characters can also look too dark in shade, some geometry is missing, water glitches, and it can run out of memory. Want to try something this weekend? There’s no ready-made native build yet. The code is public, and I’m going to keep at it and hope to make a lot of people happy this weekend. Until then you can already try both games on a jailbroken PS5 through Linux, with Lichii under Bazzite. On my console it finished a full Mario Kart World race at 21 to 25 fps, and Ocarina ran at 22 to 34 fps before it crashed after about 5 minutes of 3D. The fans get loud, but mine stayed at 60 °C at most. Linux setup steps are in the first comment, with links to the right projects for any problems. You need your own game dump, keys and firmware from your own console. None of that is included anywhere, so please don’t ask for it or share it. I’m not a programmer. It’s been about 41 hours since the game was dumped, with 2 short breaks, all done with Claude and tested on my own console. Thanks to the EglantinePS5, Eglantine and Lichii people, and the PS5 Linux and Bazzite Deck projects. submitted by /u/Revolutionary-Gap178 [link] [comments]
