PS5 FW 13.60 — Nearly every PS5 game crashes with CE-108255-1

Wait 5 sec.

I bought a used PS5 running firmware 13.60. The jailbreak works, games mount and launch, but nearly every PS5 game freezes and crashes with CE-108255-1, usually within 30 seconds to a few minutes. I'm starting to wonder whether the console itself has a hardware problem, but I haven't been able to test an unmodified retail PS5 game to distinguish that from jailbreak compatibility issues. The console itself stays running normally. I acknowledge the error and return to the home screen. No overheating warnings or unexpected shutdowns. Jailbreaks and payloads tested: - Relapse - Y2JB - Standalone kstuff, including different builds - kstuff-lite 1.11 - Multiple etaHEN 13.60 builds, including an updated build with kstuff-lite - ShadowMount+ v1.7beta11 Switching jailbreak entry methods and kstuff/etaHEN builds did not eliminate the crashes. ShadowMount+ settings tested: - Full FakeLib - Emulators Only - Game-specific Emulators Only rule for "Sniper Elite 5" - Emulators Only tested on :Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds" - ShadowMount+'s automatic emulator update feature enabled AMPR: ShadowMount+ reports that its shared AMPR emulator is current. I confirmed that "/data/shadowmount/emus/libSceAmpr.sprx" exists. ShadowMount+ reports "Backport applied" when launching Sonic, but I have not manually modified or replaced Sonic's backport libraries. Game storage formats tested: - ".exfat" images on the internal PS5 SSD - Extracted game folder on the internal SSD (Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds) Sonic crashed with both formats. I haven't ruled out an issue with the downloads themselves. But so far ive tested 6 games with the same result. Errors captured in ShadowMount+ logs: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds — PPSA08804: "0xa0d0c012 (GPU_FAULT_WAVEFRONT_ERROR_ASYNC)" Recorded on two separate launches, approximately 28–30 seconds after the game started. Dirt 5: "0xa0d0c005 (GPU_FAULT_PAGE_FAULT_ASYNC)" Other crashes returned CE-108255-1 without a specific GPU fault recorded. Additional checks performed: - Verified Sonic's "eboot.bin" has executable permissions (0777). - Checked nine ".prx"/".sprx" modules in Sonic's "sce_module", "fakelib", and "prx" folders. All nine had executable permissions (0777). - Confirmed Sonic's extracted game folder is the active source in ShadowMount+. - Confirmed ShadowMount+ mounts Sonic's "fakelib" directory during launch. - Sonic crashed using both Full FakeLib and Emulators Only. - The shared AMPR emulator exists and ShadowMount+ reports it current I'd appreciate any suggestions, even if they're basic. Please don't assume I've already tried a fix unless it's specifically listed above. I'm trying to identify a reproducible solution before giving up on firmware 13.60 and updating the console. submitted by /u/h_AR_ley15 [link] [comments]
