[Hiring] Rate $40 | Configuring AT&T BGW320 IP Passthrough + Netgear Nighthawk router + Port Forwarding For Plex Remote Access

Wait 5 sec.

This task should take an hour I imagine. I’m looking to hire someone remotely to help me properly configure my home network to fix a Plex issue that has occurred with ATT's recent firmware update with their BGW320 router. Would love today if possible. Details here from another person who had the same issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/PleX/comments/1xm4979/comment/19sa85hxdlnuo/?context=1&screen_view_count=2 Current Setup: ISP / Modem: AT&T Fiber with the BGW320-500 Gateway Router: Netgear Nighthawk (R7000 / RAX series) Server: Unraid NAS hosting Plex Media Server The Problem: Right now, with ATT's firmware update, if I have Port Forwarding on to allow my remote users access to my Plex server, I cannot access it locally because of a DNS binding bug which prevents local access. What I Need Done: AT&T BGW320 Configuration: Enable IP Passthrough (DHCPS-fixed) pointing to the Netgear Nighthawk's MAC address, and disable the built-in AT&T Wi-Fi radios (2.4GHz & 5GHz) to prevent interference/device leakage. Netgear Nighthawk Setup: Ensure the router properly acquires the public WAN IP, handles local DHCP for the 192.168.1.x subnet, and set up a static port forward rule for port 32400 (TCP) pointing directly to my Unraid server so that my scripts stay the same I have running and everything else. Verification: Confirm Plex Remote Access reports "Fully Accessible Outside Your Network" and test playback on client devices (Roku/Apple TV) to ensure direct play at original quality, and that I can access my Plex locally at home. Please comment or send a DM with your experience and availability. submitted by /u/the-gaynerd [link] [comments]
