Greif Short Term Swing, Long Term BearGreif Inc Class ABATS:GEFreasonableFlam46485Hi, Greif makes your grandmother's and your crafty spouse's favorite container -- the Ball jar. It also produces other vessels of liquid containment. The company has been making an upward climb over the past 300 years, but suffers swings occasionally. In the short term the sinking highs and rising lows might be ideal for a breakout and a quick buck or two. Longer term we may be looking at cost driven setbacks considering the price of every single thing on planet earth is skyrocketing. In a time of AI, quantum computing, drone warfare, self-driving cars, there is little investor enthusiasm for containers. This may be a good thing for stability, but the return on investment may not be exciting enough for the more risk-tolerant investor. For what it's worth, Greif does provide about a $.50 dividend (quarterly, I think) so a larger position would generate a some passive income. Again, my usual hypothesis for a company like this is to simply invest in an index fund or ETF. Those dividends do be looking good, though. Cheers
