Choosing the Right Xbox: Series X or Series S

Wait 5 sec.

It’s finally time to upgrade from your PS4 or Xbox One. The biggest games — like like Resident Evil Requiem, Forza Horizon 6, and the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI — are coming only to current-generation consoles. If you’re shopping for a new Xbox, you have two choices: the Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S. The two are based on a similar foundation, and they will play all of the same games for years to come. But the Series X and Series S each target a different level of graphics performance, and they take different approaches to physical media: The Series X supports discs while the Series S is digital only. With that in mind, we’re here to help you figure out which Xbox you should buy, if you need to buy one at all, and whether you should invest in Xbox’s game subscription service, Game Pass.
