Two arrested for robbing man of gold ornaments; police recovered stolen jewellery worth ₹6 lakh - The HinduPublished - May 15, 2026 07:25 pm IST - BengaluruPolice have arrested two persons for allegedly abducting and robbing a man after threatening him with a knife in K.R. Puram near east Bengaluru.The accused have been identified as Vivek and Nikhil, residents of east Bengaluru. The arrest has led to the recovery of gold ornaments worth ₹6 lakh.According to the police, the victim, a resident of B. Channasandra, lodged a complaint at the K.R. Puram Police Station on February 18. In the complaint, the victim stated that he had gone near a petrol bunk in K.R. Puram on February 15 for work-related purposes when an unidentified man approached him under the pretext of asking for an address.Then the accused allegedly snatched the key of the complainant’s bike, following which two of his associates arrived at the spot. The trio allegedly assaulted the complainant, threatened him with a knife, and forcibly took him on a bike to a forest area in Channasandra.The accused then robbed him of his gold ornaments and mobile phone before fleeing from the spot. Based on the complaint, the police registered a robbery case and launched an investigation.On February 25, the police apprehended one accused near Muneshwara Temple in Ramamurthy Nagar, while another accused was detained near a gym in the same locality. One more accused was still on the run.During interrogation, the accused reportedly revealed that the robbed gold ornaments had been handed over to a relative of one of the accused and that a part of the jewellery had been sold at a jewellery shop in Ramamurthy Nagar.
