By Mulengera ReportersWell briefed sources have indicated that Anita Among has suffered low blood pressure-related vulnerability and that her health has understandably not been very well lately because of the emotional stress resulting from the ongoing investigations and the cruel media publicity she has endured. She has been undergoing extreme trauma since Gen MK tweeted, reinforcing David Kabanda’s pronouncements to the effect that favor had been withdrawn and that she was no longer desirable to remain Speaker. Sources have revealed that nothing tormented luxury and ostentation-loving Anita Among like having to helplessly look on as her hard-earned and carefully constructed fleet of expensive vehicles was being obliterated. That she almost collapsed seeing her posh vehicles being towed away amidst cheerful scenes of public members jubilating as the media gave live coverage. That in a bid to deescalate on the pressure so that her fragile health condition doesn’t deteriorate, some actors in her universe had, with her own acquiescence, resorted to mobilizing a group of Bishops to go and meet Gen Museveni (to whom she no longer has unlimited access) to plead for lenience. Specifically, the concern is that her blood pressure situation will get much worse the moment she is put on trial and locked up at Luzira prison, where she has never been detained. She isn’t among those thick-skinned politicians who can manage to emotionally withstand prison experience. This is why the Bishops have been resorted to as an influential group that can fearlessly face Gen Museveni and once again deliver Anita Among’s apology and request for clemency. The idea is to make sure that things end there and she doesn’t get arraigned to stand trial and subsequently get remanded at Luzira or Kitalya prison or any other. Unfortunately, the assembled team of clerics have so far remained stranded as getting that appointment with an increasingly disinterested Gen YK Museveni has so far remained elusive.
