Chris Fearne claimed he was the target of an “international frame-up campaign” aimed at destroying both him and his family.Speaking during a Labour rally yesterday evening, Fearne said the past two years had been among the toughest periods of his life, particularly following the fallout from the Vitals hospitals inquiry, which led to criminal charges against several former officials and figures linked to the controversial hospitals concession deal.“In the last year and a half to two years, I was the target of an international campaign trying to break me and break my family,” he said.Fearne went on to allege that around €6 million had been spent as part of what he described as a coordinated operation involving an “international spy agency”.“They did everything within their power to try and break me,” he told supporters.Fearne is currently campaigning in the upcoming general election after previously resigning from Cabinet amid the hospitals inquiry case, where he has denied wrongdoing. What do you make of Chris Fearne’s claims?Video: Partit Laburista•
