Residents in Naxxar were left shaken on yesterday evening after parts of a major construction site reportedly shifted beneath the ground, raising fears of a possible collapse.Police and authorities were called to the corner of Triq il-Milizzja and Triq is-Seneskalk after residents reported loud noises and what appeared to be landslides within the excavation site, according to Times of Malta.Lovin Malta visited the site earlier today, where visible damage could still be seen around the development. Footage captured shows sections of the excavation appearing unstable as investigations continue into what exactly caused the ground movement.The development, being carried out by contractor Anton Camilleri, better known as Tal Franċiż, is part of a large-scale project on a former quarry site that is expected to include dozens of apartments and garages.A stop-work order has since reportedly been issued on the site, while the Occupational Health and Safety Authority confirmed it is investigating alongside other authorities.What do you make of this situation?
