Apparently parking tickets are a communist concept now, at the very least that’s what the MAGA crowd are trying to convince us after a Fox News vehicle received a fine for illegal parking while in China. Donald Trump’s visit to China has already seen a lot of coverage, with news crews jetting over and apparently causing havoc on the streets of Beijing it would seem. The outrage came after Bret Baier’s Fox News crew received a $40 fine when a driver parked illegally for a couple of minutes. The vehicle was caught on camera and the fine promptly issued. While this wouldn’t really be much worth writing home about had it happened in the states, because it happened in China it gives the right-wing, brain-rotted MAGAs the chance to preach their anti-communism rhetoric. Baier claimed “There are literally cameras everywhere,” and that the authorities in China, “see everything.” However, he did admit that the driver parked illegally. Meanwhile political commentator Eric Daugherty took to X to express his outrage over the ticket, pinning the blame on communism stating “This is Communism! That’s not communism So who’s going to tell these guys that parking tickets and surveillance aren’t communism? If anything it’s an example of authoritarianism, something which is just as present and problematic in the U.S. But apparently it’s fine when America does it, it’s only an issue somewhere like China according to these guys. Or maybe it’s because it happened to Trump’s favorite news channel. After all, would someone like Eric Daugherty be as outraged had ABC News received the parking fine? Probably not. On top of that, footage shows the Fox News crew creating chaos and stopping traffic on the streets of Beijing. Another clip shared on X shows the reporter walking in the middle of a biking lane, posing a threat to the citizens of Beijing that make use of it. This looks more like a desperate attempt to smear communism rather than actual reporting. Communism did not make the Fox News driver park illegally, the driver did that themselves, something which Baier himself admits. It doesn’t matter that it was only for two minutes either. While we can certainly use this to discuss excessive surveillance, that’s not something exclusive to communist countries so it’s odd that Daugherty would try to use that to whip up fear and claim that this is “what the Democrats want.” Fox, like Trump, seems incapable of admitting its own wrongdoings and instead are trying to blame the communist boogeyman, thankfully nobody’s buying it.
