Less than a year after its initial announcement, Team17 has confirmed that Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is coming out on June 18. However, fans who wish to experience the apocalypse now can sign up for the open beta that's set to take place between May 29 and June 1. This was confirmed today by Team17, alongside a flashy new trailer, which shows players taking control of soldiers from both sides of the Vietnam War and duking it out in dense jungles and on the banks of sprawling rivers. From what we can see, it retains a lot of the first game's DNA while transferring the setting from the fronts of World War 2 into the treacherous terrain of Indochina. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjJxmPIj9ZgThe game had a closed beta test a couple of weeks ago, and though fan reactions were somewhat mixed, most praised the atmosphere and the tense gameplay while saying there are many bugs and quirks that could be worked out, namely when it comes to audio and visual clarity. But if you wanted to see what the game has to offer yourself and be the judge of its quality ahead of release, there is going to be an open beta hosted later this month, May 29 to be exact. You can sign up for it using this link, though I'm fairly certain everyone will be able to hop in and play no matter if you took the precaution to get enlisted. Hell Let Loose has for long been known as one of the best first-person shooters, especially among fans of mil-sim and more realistic titles. While not emphasizing realism as much as, say, Arma or Squad, Hell Let Loose maintains an incredible degree of immersion and utilizes mechanics like a very short time-to-kill (one shot is all it takes), a minimalist HUD, and grounded movement. The follow-up promises more of the same but in a different, more modern setting, and I cannot wait to get my hands on it.
