Nationalist Party (PN) leader Alex Borg was approached by a student worker who raised concerns about the growing number of foreign workers in Malta and the difficulties young people face in finding employment as a result.“I’m listening to a lot of proposals but as a student-worker (part-time) I notice how we have a lot of foreigners who take our jobs. How do you think we could tackle this issue?” asked the student-worker.Borg said that just before their conversation, he announced proposals which suggested having an authority on the population to start controlling the numbers because at present “there is no plan.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)The PN leader went on to say that the authority would establish population capacity limits. Borg also stated that, if the PN is elected in the upcoming general election, the party would invest in infrastructure to ensure population growth does not place excessive pressure on the country’s infrastructure.Borg went on to say that the PN is proposing a joint task force between the police and the Armed Forces to strengthen border control and tackle drug trafficking, human trafficking, and the illegal entry of foreigners without permits. What do you make of their exchange?•
