Man arrested for murdering woman, dumping body in Tirupalya lake in Anekal taluk - The HinduPublished - May 16, 2026 10:21 pm IST - BengaluruA man from Assam was arrested for allegedly murdering a 47-year-old woman and dumping her body in Tirupalya Lake in Anekal taluk.According to police, a case of unnatural death was registered at the Hebbagodi Police Station on May 9 after the woman’s body was found floating in the lake under suspicious circumstances.During the investigation, the postmortem report and doctors’ opinion confirmed that the woman had been murdered by strangulation and suffocation.Based on the findings, the police registered a suo motu murder case against unidentified persons and intensified the probe.Using circumstantial and technical evidence, the police traced and detained Ratan Das from Assam on May 14 from his residence in Tirupalya in Anekal taluk.The investigators found that the accused was closely associated with the victim.
