Special Belmont Festival Events at National Museum of Racing

With all eyes soon to be on Saratoga for the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival, the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame will open two new special exhibitions, as well as offer several public events.Capturing and Preserving Greatness: A Life's Passion (The Photography and Historic Collections of Barbara D. Livingston, presented by Daily Racing Form) and A Discerning Eye: The Art of Sir Alfred Munnings (Selections from a Private Collection) will both open Wednesday, June 3. The former chronicles the photography career and historic collections of six-time Eclipse Award winner Barbara D. Livingston and was co-curated with Annie Davis, the museum's collections manager, and the latter features 29 Alfred Munnings paintings from a private collection and was guest curated by Teresa Longyear.Among the other events featured at the museum over the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival, which will be held from June 3-7, are a book talk and signing with Tom Durkin; Durkin-led tours of the Museum; the Belmont Bash at the Canfield Casino; Saturday Morning Social; the Belmont Family Fun Fest; a raffle for an ownership share in a West Point Thoroughbreds racehorse; and Oklahoma Training Track Tours.The post Special Belmont Festival Events at National Museum of Racing appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
