A colt by leading third-crop sire Vekoma (hip 135) lit up the tote board at Tuesday's Fasig-Tipton July Selected Yearling Sale, selling to Legion Bloodstock's Kristian Villante for $600,000.“I think he could have stood out [at the Fasig-Tipton] Saratoga Sale, not just July,” Villante said. “He was a big, forward-looking colt, but just had a really good presence about him and handled himself really well all week. We loved the sire, but he was a physical standout for us.”Consigned and bred by Shawhan Place LLC, the colt is the second foal out of a winning Uncle Mo first dam who is a half-sister to a graded stakes winner and from the family of the great Zenyatta (Street Cry {Ire}).“We love Uncle Mo as a broodmare sire,” Villante added. “So it really just kind of made sense all around for him.”The post ‘A Physical Standout’: Legion Bloodstock Goes To $600k For Vekoma Colt At Fasig July appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
