/u/HeddaLeeming on We have enuf money for a new house, but need large rugs, a king sized bed, a play set, TV stand for our big tv …& play food.

Wait 5 sec.

Well to be fair when we bought our house we were broke as f*** because we'd been saving for the down payment and then had to buy things like a washer and dryer and refrigerator, which we didn't own and didn't come with the house. I really don't have an issue with people listing things unless they're really unreasonable. Maybe their TV stand broke in the move. Maybe they had a really unstable one so now they're watching it on the floor. Having a big TV these days doesn't make you rich. They're much cheaper than they used to be. As far as things like toys for outdoors--maybe than wasn't something they could have in an apartment. At least if they get used things they're keeping them out of a landfill. And toys in general are often in a home whose kids have outgrown them and they're just sitting in a box somewhere. And maybe they're not sure where to post. In the neighborhood makes sense to me. I see similar posts on Nextdoor. If I had an item that matched I'd be happy because the folks from far away are unlikely to show up.
