A spokesperson for US Central Command (CENTCOM) told Channel 12 News on Sunday night that Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces launched fire toward commercial vessels navigating the Strait of Hormuz.According to the spokesperson, US air and naval forces deployed a rapid response in the area, successfully intercepting an Iranian cruise missile and an explosive drone before they could hit the vessels.
