Liverpool have announced the signing of goalkeeper Khiara Keating on a free transfer. The 22-year-old became a free agent following the expiration of her contract at Manchester City, where she progressed through the academy before making her Women's Super League debut in 2021-22.Overall, Keating made 44 WSL appearances for City, keeping 15 clean sheets and making 109 saves as she won the league title in 2025-26.However, during City's title-winning campaign last term, Keating was very much the second-choice goalkeeper behind Ayaka Yamashita, featuring in just four WSL games.Keating reportedly rejected a contract extension from City as she now looks to help Liverpool become a title contender."I think everyone knows Liverpool worldwide. It’s such a big club and I think the women’s team is striving for greatness," Keating, who signed a three-year deal, told the club website. We are delighted to announce the signing of England international goalkeeper Khiara Keating, after the expiry of her contract at Manchester City — Liverpool FC Women (@LiverpoolFCW) July 13, 2026"I think the style of football that they play, they actually try to play – which suits me and my position."I think they’re just going in the right direction and [it is] a project that I want to be part of."The start of my career has been nothing but amazing.
