Reminds me of a local guy my father knows, whose son-in-law died unexpectedly this past spring... Obviously, this was tragic and awful, as it's a young man, leaving behind a young wife, etc. But the FIL posted a GFM, when it's well known in our area that he is a legit millionaire. It isn't as though the family can't afford funeral costs or something. But this guy had the actual nerve to shake down his acquaintances, most of whom have way less than he does, trying to get all the costs covered. And I shudder to think of some random stranger seeing the GFM online, wanting to genuinely be helpful in someone's time of need, but it is honestly money that could be more helpful elsewhere.
