ROP Long — The Contract Was Written Before the TradeRoper Technologies, Inc.NASDAQ:ROPyieldzilla888Most losing trades I've ever taken had one thing in common: I decided the exit after I was in. This position went the other way — every number below was locked before entry, and I'm posting it so the exits are public record. The setup (daily): Trend system fired long at the start of July — fast EMA over slow with the daily trend filter confirming, after price broke out of that June base at 330. Since then: price reclaimed the Ichimoku cloud, the cloud has flipped supportive underneath (~347), and pullbacks keep holding above the old R2 shelf at 361 → 356 pivot zone. Trend up, RSI ~60 — extended enough to need a plan, healthy enough to hold. The contract: Entry zone: ~358 Stop: 346.59 (−3.3%) — under the R1 349.40 pivot and the cloud roof. If it closes there, I'm out next open. No renegotiation. Target: 397.30 (+10.8%) — profit zone sits between R4 (391) and R5 (406) Risk/reward: 3.3 : 1 The part most posts leave out: Earnings are Thursday, July 23. I'm holding through it, and I'm telling you that before the print, not after. The stop is sized so the earnings risk is a defined number, not a hope. If the report gaps me through the stop, that loss was priced into the plan from day one. That's the whole edge I'm claiming here — not that I know what Roper reports Thursday (I don't), but that both outcomes already have instructions. Win → the trade pays 3x what it risks. Lose → it costs exactly what I agreed to. Either way the plan executes. Follow along — I post the exits with the same numbers I post the entries.
