Contraband seized during surprise search at Parappana Agrahara prison; undertrial booked - The HinduPublished - July 15, 2026 07:40 pm IST - BengaluruParappana Agrahara Central Prison | Photo Credit: File PhotoA surprise search at the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison led to the seizure of prohibited items, including two SIM cards, tobacco, and a suspected narcotic substance, resulting in the registration of a fresh case against an undertrial inmate and others.According to the complaint, prison officials conducted an unannounced inspection of Tower-1, Barrack No. 1, Room No. 5, on Tuesday. During the search, officials recovered one SIM card from the room.Later, acting on specific intelligence, the prison staff intercepted undertrial prisoner Shivakumar near the HOPCOMS room in Tower-01.
