IDK. My daughter went through brutal double mastectomy, chemo, PT, etc. Her husband is a chef but he was so overwhelmed with taking care of the then-8 yr old twins, running my daughter to and from appointments, tending to the household chores, etc. that they were grateful for the meals. A lot of them got frozen and eaten later on, but they made sure to eat everything and thank the donors. Asking for money after asking for meals just seems to me like the family is double-dipping and trying to get all they can from as many resources. Maybe it's just me, but perhaps they should be thankful for the food they got? If I had taken the time to cook and deliver meals for them, I'd be hurt that my contribution to them wasn't enough and they went and asked for money instead.
