Makerere University has released a summary of staff promotions and new recruitments carried out between July 2025 and now, showing a total of 153 academic staff movements, combining both promotions within the academic ranks and fresh academic hires, as the university continues building out its workforce under its current Strategic Plan.According to the university, its Appointments Board has, over the past year, collectively approved multiple appointments spanning academic leadership positions, fresh academic hires, and a wide range of administrative and support staff roles, including several senior academic leadership positions such as Deans and Heads of Department.The university describes its approach as merit-based, aimed at filling critical staffing gaps while investing in both academic excellence and efficient service delivery.
