Six redeveloped railway stations in State to be inaugurated by PM today - The HinduPublished - July 16, 2026 08:42 pm IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAMAs many as six redeveloped railway stations in Kerala under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS) will be dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through video conferencing on Friday.Tirur, Thalassery, Parappanangadi and Nilambur Road railway stations under the Palakkad Division and Chalakudy and Angamaly for Kalady railway stations under the Thiruvananthapuram Division will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister.Ceremonial functions will be held at all the six stations in the presence of elected representatives, dignitaries and other eminent personalities. Tirur railway station was redeveloped at a cost of about ₹26 crore, while Thalassery Railway Station has been redeveloped at a cost of over ₹22 crore.Parppanangadi Railway Station has been redeveloped at a cost of over ₹14 crore, followed by Nilambur Road Railway Station at a cost of ₹17 crore, Chalakudy (₹8.87 crore) and Angamaly for Kalady Railway Station (₹9.28 crore).In Southern Railway, 115 railway stations have been identified for redevelopment under the Amrit Station Scheme, of which 24 redeveloped stations have already been inaugurated by the Prime Minister.
