Kerala Muslim Jamaat seeks action over death threat against PM - The HinduPublished - July 15, 2026 09:32 pm IST - MALAPPURAMThe Malappuram district committee of the Kerala Muslim Jamaath has alleged that the death threat to Prime Minister Narendra Modi was a deliberate attempt to disturb communal harmony in the district. It demanded strict legal action against those behind the threat.In a statement issued after its district committee meeting on Wednesday, the organisation also sought action against those who circulated the social media post in a manner that spread misinformation and hatred.It said those who sought to justify the act by attributing it to “mental illness” or gave it a communal colour to promote religious polarisation should also face legal action. The committee urged people to remain united against attempts to disturb peace.The committee also criticised the remarks of the Alappuzha MLA, saying they insulted the political awareness of the people of Malappuram. Describing the remarks as anti-people and anti-democratic, it demanded that the MLA withdraw them and apologise.Muslim Jamaat district president Vadassery Hassan Musliyar presided over the meeting. Secretary K.P. Jamal Karulai, Syed K.K.S. Thangal Faizy, C.K.U. Moulavi, A.C.K. Pang, P. Subair, Alavikutty Faizy, C.H. Hamza Saqafi, E.K.
