Authorities imposed restrictions at Mazar-e-Shuhada in Srinagar, preventing commemorations of Martyrs' Day. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condemned the move, alleging the sacrifices of Muslims who fought British rule were being disregarded. The day, observed for 22 Kashmiris killed in 1931, was an official holiday until 2019-20, but was later removed from the list.
