Maharashtra minister Dattatray Bharne expressed the state's desire for a Marathi prime minister. He believes Devendra Fadnavis is the ideal candidate for this national leadership role. Bharne is confident a Maharashtrian will lead the country in 2029 or 2034. He also supports Sunetra Pawar becoming Maharashtra's first woman chief minister. The Mahayuti alliance currently governs Maharashtra with these leaders.
