Samsung launched two completely new types of devices last year: the Galaxy XR mixed reality headset and the Galaxy Z TriFold. While the company has reportedly been working on the second-generation Galaxy Z TriFold, a new rumor claims it could launch a phone with an entirely new form factor before the Galaxy Z TriFold 2.According to tipster Lanzuk, sources within Samsungâs supply chain say development of the Galaxy Z TriFold 2 is progressing with an upgraded hinge. However, due to ârecent issues such as costs,â Samsung may have to delay the launch of its next-generation tri-folding phone beyond its original schedule. The new hinge mechanism is said to reduce the deviceâs thickness and weight by making nearly all hinge components more uniform in thickness. Since the first-generation Galaxy Z TriFold weighs 309g, the redesigned hinge could make the Galaxy Z TriFold 2 noticeably easier to carry and use.
