Senior CPI(M) leader M M Mani criticised the UDF government's vision for addressing the power crisis. He stated that Kerala has never met its power demand independently. Mani claimed that sufficient power purchase agreements were not made by the current administration. This comes after the Electricity Minister cited low rainfall and dam levels for power cuts. The state must also return borrowed power, prolonging the current situation.
