Abundant ash emissions during the eruption on 7 July from Kanlaon (image: jaime s. sincioco)A strong explosion took place from the volcano's summit crater on 7 July.The eruption generated a grey copious ash plume that released tephra material to an estimated 4,5-5,5 km altitude propagating northeast.In addition, a block-and-ash flow descended over the southern slope, reaching a length of at least 4 kilometres from the summit.
