As the trial of Yorgen Fenech entered its eleventh day, Daphne Caruana Galizia’s sister, Mandy Mallia, shared a poignant tribute reflecting on the journalist’s life and the fight for justice.Alongside a photograph of Daphne at just 19 years old, taken during a family holiday at Lake Como in April 1984, Mallia recalled that the same month her sister had been arrested while protesting the closure of schools by the government of the day.In her post, Mallia wrote that Daphne’s life “was snuffed out barbarically for what she knew”, adding that justice must be delivered “with the full force of the law” and warning that “anything less is to kill her all over again”.She also referenced the attempted car bomb assassination of Romeo Bone months before Daphne’s murder, saying her sister was killed “at the behest of somebody who wanted to ensure that she would not end up like Romeo Bone”.Fenech is facing charges of criminal association and complicity in the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia. He has pleaded not guilty.Photo credits to Mandy Mallia•
