CRO South Zone Leads Outreach with Karnataka Legislative Leaders and Academic Institutions to Promote His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Four Principal CommitmentsBengaluru: At 10:00 AM on 8 July, under the leadership of Jigmey Tsultrim, Chief Representative Officer (CRO) for the South Zone, Bengaluru, and Gomang Khen Rinpoche Geshe Jigme Gyatso, a delegation visited Jyoti Nivas College.During the visit, Khen Rinpoche paid a courtesy call on the College Principal, Dr. Sr. Mary Louisa S., to convey birthday greetings on the occasion of the 91st birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. He also expressed sincere appreciation and gratitude for the institution’s continued support of Tibetan students.The Principal shared that 18 Tibetan students are currently enrolled at Jyoti Nivas College and are pursuing their higher education there.As a token of appreciation, Khen Rinpoche presented Dr. Sr. Mary Louisa S. with a Tibetan thangka featuring a sketch of Drepung Gomang Monastery.Later that day around, 12:00 noon, Khen Rinpoche paid a courtesy call to the His Excellency the Governor of Karnataka, Shri. Thawarchand Gehlot. The meeting was marked by expressions of respect and thanks for the support extended to the Tibetan community in exile particularly in Karnataka.Following this, Rinpoche visited Mount Carmel College Autonomous to now Mount Carmel – Deemed to be University where he delivered a talk on His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Four Principal Commitments. The session highlighted the importance of compassion, religious harmony, preservation of Tibetan culture, and the revival of ancient Indian knowledge to the students.It was followed by presentation from Tenzin Thakpo, Sustainability Officer, Reimagining Doeguling Tibetan Settlement (RDTS), who engraved the seriousness and vitality of showcasing the subject upon Sustainability Development and Shared Responsibilities in saving and preserving the Planet Earth. Tenzin Thakpo underlined the relevance of Four Commitment of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in today’s moving pace of information technology and world of AI.In the afternoon, Rinpoche visited Vidhana Soudha and met with Shri Shanthkumar Desai, Private Secretary to Chief Whip, Government. The meeting served as a courtesy call to express gratitude for ongoing support.During these engagements, Tenzin Thakpo of RDTS delivered a talk on the importance of water. He stressed that lasting sustainability depends not only on technology and policy but also on the values that shape how we live and work.
