BTC: Awaits breakout catalystBitcoin / U.S. dollarBITSTAMP:BTCUSDXBTFXBitcoin faced a mixed trading environment this week, with the price reacting to a combination of technical factors and macroeconomic drivers. While demand from investors remained present, uncertainty around interest rates, dollar movements, and overall market sentiment limited a clear directional breakout. As it was expected, during the week BTC headed toward testing the $65K resistance line. The highest level reached during the week was $65.565. After that a short reversal took the stage, with the price moving back toward the $62,5K. Still, the week closes above $64K. The RSI is still moving around the 50 level, which is indication that investors are clearly eyeing the overbought market side, but waiting for the right catalyst. The MA50 continues to diverge from MA200, without any indication that the potential cross is near. For the week ahead, it could be expected that BTC will continue to test the $65K resistance line. Whether this will be the week of a final break of this level is questionable. Still, in case of a move further to the upside, then it might be expected that BTC will test the high from mid-June this year, at $66,9K. There is also equal probability for the move to the downside. In this case, the short term support at $63K might be shortly tested.
