That was a wild read. 18yo boy met girl when he was 13 on a cruise in Italy and now wants to go to South Africa to be a teenage boy, expects strangers to pay for it. My guess is the parents aren’t as close as he thinks they are or they don’t support this decision. So they told him “if you can raise the money we will all go,” knowing the chance he will do it is nil. You can tell he’s from an affluent background because trip to Italy (obviously) and no where does he think how can I make this happen for myself. It’s “peasants should fund my vacation so I can go see my pretend girlfriend and lose my virginity.” Wild story.
