Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Savinho has gone quiet over recent weeks, but the latest reports suggest there is still every chance the Manchester City winger could end up in North London this summer.Spurs may have already completed six first-team signings this summer, but they are yet to land the very first player they were linked with before the transfer window gathered pace; Savinho. The Manchester City winger has been on Tottenham’s radar since last summer, when Spurs were prepared to spend around £70m, only for City to refuse to entertain a sale. However, after finding regular starts difficult under Pep Guardiola last season, making just 7 Premier League starts, the situation has changed. With new manager Enzo Maresca now willing to let the Brazilian leave, City’s asking price is understood to have dropped to around £60m, while we have already reported that Savinho has agreed personal terms with Tottenham.Even so, the move has gone unusually quiet over the past few weeks. So where exactly do things stand?Photo by Kevork Djansezian/Getty ImagesEverything we know about Tottenham’s pursuit of SavinhoDespite the lack of public developments, Fabrizio Romano has repeatedly reassured Tottenham supporters that the deal remains very much alive. The Italian journalist has made it clear on several occasions that Savinho is now Tottenham’s priority attacking target following the arrivals of defensive and midfield reinforcements. In fact, Romano even recently claimed that ‘Savinho is target number one, two and three.’Romano further explained that the transfer now depends on Manchester City’s own business rather than Tottenham’s willingness to complete a deal. This is after several reliable sources claimed that Spurs are confident of striking a £60m agreement. We have already reported that Man City are willing to let Savinho leave, but only after bringing in another winger themselves. Iliman Ndiaye has been one of their preferred targets, although negotiations have proved more difficult than expected.Given how inflated the transfer market has become, it makes sense that City want a replacement in before selling Savinho, leaving Tottenham with little option but to wait. However, perhaps the most encouraging sign came as recently as 16 June, when Romano reposted his original Savinho update on X. Those who follow his work will know he rarely does that unless a deal is edging closer to completion. Most recently, Mail Sport claimed that ‘Tottenham will sign Savinho’ and Man City are closing in on a £65m sale. Simon Jones wrote: ‘City are looking for wingers as they close the sale of Savinho to Tottenham for around £65million. Spurs will sign Savinho but want two more forward options and are alert to opportunities in the market.’Savinho himself has continued to fuel Tottenham speculationWhile negotiations have remained largely behind the scenes, Savinho’s own social media activity has done little to quieten speculation over a move to North London. It first began when Xavi Simons shared an old photo of himself alongside Savinho from their PSV Eindhoven days. More recently, the Tottenham midfielder added further intrigue when a Spurs supporter asked on TikTok whether Savinho would be joining him in North London. Simons not only liked the comment but also replied with the eyes emoji.Savinho has also played his own part in keeping supporters talking. The Brazilian liked Mateus Fernandes’ announcement post after the Portuguese midfielder completed his move to Tottenham, before also commenting on Pedro Porro’s Instagram post following Spain’s World Cup quarter-final victory over Belgium.READ MORE: Tottenham fans slam ‘disrespectful’ Lucas Bergvall bid as Forest ready second offerThe post Everything we know about Savinho to Tottenham from 12 sources, including done deal claim appeared first on Spurs Web.
