Officials stop outflow from Almatti - The HinduPublished - July 14, 2026 08:34 pm IST - BelagaviIrrigation officials have stopped outflow from the Almatti dam after reduced rainfall in the State and scaled-down water discharge from Maharashtra.Inflow at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Reservoir over the Krishna in Almatti was reduced to 15,180 cusecs or around 1.3 tmcft on Tuesday. The outflow from Almatti was reduced to zero by Tuesday evening.The dam now has 71 tmcft of water, against its full capacity of 123 tmcft. Water discharge from Maharashtra’s three reservoirs together was 25,756 cusecs, 5,984 cusecs less than Monday’s 31,740 cusecs.Meanwhile, officers have issued appeals to farmers not to utilise canal waters for irrigation, while utilising the already released water wisely.The Raja Lakhamgouda reservoir over the Ghatapraha in Hidkal has 17.9 tmcft of water against a full capacity of 51 tmcft.Inflow was 4,728 cusecs and outflow 130 cusecs.The Renuka Sagar dam over the Malaprabha near Munawalli has 8.9 tmcft against the full capacity of 37 tmcft.
